The Unnamed
Daylight

The past week has been cold. The weather, frosty and wintry, has been profoundly cooler compared to the peachy tones of this season one year ago. I felt it was so unusually peculiar that I even wrote an article on it a while back.

But today was different. Today, mother nature’s icy grip lifted, and daylight broke through the clouds.

The light was warm, yet the cold still lingered. It was the perfect weather, in my opinion. The sky was empty, save for the sun, a solitary entity amongst the vivid blue. It’s shine was strong enough to barely protect from the cold, yet the enduring chill was strong enough to barely protect from the heat. The temperature was not hot, but mellow; not icy, but crisp.

Just right.

Inevitably, the clouds rolled in once more. Ominous. Dark. The sun receded into its secluded abode.

Today reminded me that things will always be changing. We will always go through times of hardship, and times of adversity.

Nonetheless, in the great cycle of nature, we must remember that though it may not seem like it, the sun is always there. Behind the somber clouds, a light lives through the darkness.

Waiting to give out its daylight, to shine upon our faces.
